We recommend to try using alternate and high quality HDMI cables to help check if it is a cable issue. If 2 or 3 other HDMI cables have not responded with the device, we recommend performing an HDMI Force Out prompt when users are having some issues with their displays. This usually occur when there are compatibility issues with displays and helps ensure a stable display connection. Some of these issues include:
1. Display detection issues
2. Headless setup
3. Resolution mismatch
4. Blank screen or no signal
5. EDID (extended display identification data) issues
6. Multiple displays
HDMI Force Out Steps:
Power up your Raspberry Pi and open a terminal
Open the Raspberry Pi configuration file for editing with this command: sudo nano /boot/config.txt
Use arrows to get to the end of the file and add these 3 lines:
#Always force HDMI output and enable HDMI sound
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_drive=2
Save the changes by pressing CTRL + O
Exit the editor by pressing CTRL + X
If the display is still not responsive, we can review if the unit is still valid for replacement and process the replacement accordingly. Kindly reach out to our Customer Service team (cs@argon40.com) with the following information:
